Adiantum raddianum Fragrans, also known as the Delta Maidenhair Fern, is one of the most beautiful indoor fern plants. Its delicate, light green fronds on black stems bring lightness and naturalness to any interior. Fragrans is suitable for those looking for a delicate, airy plant with character.
Watering Keep the substrate evenly moist – water when the top layer (approx. 1–2 cm) is dry. It does not tolerate complete drying out or overwatering. Caution: Use room temperature, standing water – chlorine and fluoride from tap water can cause brown leaf tips.
Light Prefers medium indirect to bright indirect light.
Avoid direct sunlight, which can scorch the delicate fronds.
Also suitable for rooms with less natural light.
Temperature and Air
Ideal temperature: 18–24 °C.
Cold: Does not tolerate temperatures below 12 °C and drafts.
Humidity: Requires high air humidity (above 60%). Mist regularly or place on a tray with moist pebbles. During the heating season, we recommend a humidifier.
Fertilizing During the growing season (spring–summer), fertilize once a month with liquid houseplant fertilizer at half strength. Completely omit fertilization in winter. Ferns are sensitive to over-fertilization and salt buildup.
Substrate and Repotting Requires a light, humic, and well-drained substrate – a peat-based mix with perlite is ideal. Repot in spring when roots fill the pot, always only one size larger.
Warning Adiantum raddianum is non-toxic to pets and children – it is one of the safe houseplants for homes with animals.
