Aechmea Blue Rain Care

Aechmea Blue Rain is a captivating bromeliad with elongated, striped leaves and a magnificent blue inflorescence. Its exotic appearance brings a tropical atmosphere to any interior. Blue Rain is a long-lived plant that produces offsets, also known as pups, after flowering.

💧 Watering Water directly into the rosette (the center of the leaf cup), where water naturally collects. Change the water in the rosette every 2 weeks to prevent it from becoming stagnant. Caution: Use room-temperature, standing water or rainwater.

☀️ Light Prefers bright, indirect light.

• Avoid direct midday sun, which can scorch the leaves.

• It can tolerate partial shade, but the inflorescence will be less vibrant.

🌡️ Temperature and Air

• Ideal temperature: 18–26 °C.

• Cold: Does not tolerate temperatures below 12 °C or drafts.

• Humidity: Appreciates higher air humidity. During the heating season, we recommend a humidifier.

🌿 Fertilizing During the growing season (spring–summer), fertilize once a month with a liquid fertilizer for bromeliads or houseplants at half strength. Completely skip fertilizing in winter.

🧻 Substrate and Repotting Use a light, well-draining substrate for bromeliads or orchids. The root system is small – it does not need a large pot. Repot only when necessary.
