Aeschynanthus Marmoratus Care
Aeschynanthus Marmoratus, also known as the Marble Basket Plant, is a charming trailing plant with dark green leaves adorned with a light marble pattern. Its trailing branches are ideal for hanging baskets or shelves. Marmoratus brings a tropical, lush character to any interior.
💧 Watering Keep the substrate evenly moist – water when the top layer (approx. 1–2 cm) is dry. It does not tolerate complete drying out or waterlogging. Caution: Use room temperature, standing water – chlorine and fluoride from tap water can cause brown leaf tips.
☀️ Light Prefers medium indirect to bright indirect light.
Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the leaves.
Also suitable for rooms with less natural light.
🌡️ Temperature and Air
Ideal temperature: 18–26 °C.
Cold: Does not tolerate temperatures below 12 °C and drafts.
Humidity: Appreciates higher air humidity. During the heating season, we recommend a humidifier – dry air causes brown leaf tips.
🌿 Fertilization During the growing season (spring–summer), fertilize once a month with a liquid houseplant fertilizer at half strength. Completely omit fertilization in winter.
🧻 Substrate and Repotting Requires a light, humus-rich, and well-drained substrate – an ideal choice is a peat-based mix with perlite. Repot in spring when the roots fill the pot, always only one size larger.
⚠️ Warning Aeschynanthus Marmoratus is non-toxic to pets and children – it is a safe choice for households with animals.
