Agave angustifolia Shaka Koko is a compact agave variety with narrow, green leaves edged with a creamy-white margin. Its rosette shape and contrasting coloration make it a striking decorative element in any interior. It is ideal for bright rooms and windowsills.
Watering Water only when the substrate is completely dry – agave does not tolerate overwatering. In winter, water only minimally, once every 4–6 weeks. Caution: Excess water in the saucer can cause root rot.
Light Requires bright direct or indirect light.
The ideal placement is on a south or west-facing windowsill.
In insufficient light, it loses its vibrant coloration and compact shape.
Temperature and Air
Ideal temperature: 18–28 °C.
Cold: Does not tolerate temperatures below 5 °C.
Humidity: Prefers dry air – high humidity is not beneficial.
Fertilization During the growing season (spring–summer), fertilize once every 4–6 weeks with a fertilizer for cacti and succulents. Do not fertilize at all in winter.
Substrate and Repotting Use a well-draining substrate for cacti and succulents with added perlite or sand. Repot only when necessary.
Warning Agave has sharp leaf tips – place it out of reach of children. It can be mildly toxic if ingested.
