Aglaonema ‘Jungle Lava’ is a low-maintenance plant that thrives in kokedama. It only needs moderate watering, diffused light, and occasional misting. Thanks to its strong root structure, it tolerates kokedama well and will maintain its decorative appearance for a long time.

Watering

• Submerge the kokedama in a bowl of water for 5–10 minutes until bubbles stop escaping.
• After removing, let it drain well so that excess water does not remain inside.
• Repeat approximately once every 7–10 days, more often in summer as needed.
• Never leave the kokedama in standing water.

Light

• It thrives best in diffused light or partial shade.
• It can tolerate shadier spots, but the red tones will be less vibrant.
• Direct sun can cause leaf scorching.

Temperature and Air

• The ideal temperature is 20–28 °C (68–82 °F).
• It does not tolerate cold below 16 °C (61 °F).
• It prefers higher humidity but tolerates typical household environments well.
• Occasional misting will enhance its fresh appearance and color saturation.

Fertilizing

• From spring to autumn, add weak fertilizer to the water once every 4 weeks.
• Reduce fertilizing in winter.

Maintenance

• Occasionally wipe the leaves with a damp cloth to remove dust.
• Remove yellowing or damaged leaves to encourage new growth.

Kokedama Placement

• Place it on a saucer, wicker stand, or hang it with strings.
• It does not tolerate cold drafts or proximity to radiators.
