Aglaonema Maria is a popular houseplant with distinctive dark green leaves adorned with light patterns. It is low-maintenance and well-suited for interiors with less natural light. Its resilience makes it an ideal choice for both beginner and experienced growers.
Watering Water when the top layer of substrate (approx. 1–2 cm) is dry. It does not tolerate overwatering or complete drying out. Use standing water at room temperature.
Light Prefers partial shade to shade – avoid direct sun, which can scorch the leaves. It thrives even in rooms with less natural light.
Ideal for offices and darker rooms.
Direct sun causes leaves to fade.
Temperature and Air
Ideal temperature: 18–25 °C.
Cold: Does not tolerate temperatures below 15 °C or drafts.
Humidity: Appreciates higher air humidity.
Fertilizing During the growing season (spring–summer), fertilize once a month with liquid fertilizer for houseplants at half strength. Skip fertilizing in winter.
Substrate and Repotting Requires a light, well-draining substrate. Repot in spring when the roots fill the pot.
Warning Aglaonema is toxic if ingested. Keep out of reach of children and pets.
