Alocasia Zebrina Care

Alocasia Zebrina is an impressive tropical plant with large, arrow-shaped leaves and characteristic yellow-green striped stems resembling zebra stripes. It's a dominant feature in any interior.

Watering

Water regularly, as soon as the top 2–3 cm of the substrate dries out. Alocasia requires consistent moisture but dislikes stagnant water at the roots. Reduce watering in winter.

Light

Prefers bright, indirect light. Direct midday sun can scorch the leaves. An ideal spot is near a window with morning sun or diffused light.

Temperature and Humidity

Optimal temperature is 18–28 °C. Protect it from temperatures below 15 °C and cold drafts. It appreciates higher humidity — regular misting or a humidifier are suitable.

Fertilizing

Fertilize once every 2–4 weeks during the growing season (spring–summer) with a liquid houseplant fertilizer. Do not fertilize in winter.

Substrate

Use a well-draining substrate with added perlite or bark. Excellent drainage is crucial to prevent root rot.
