Anthurium Wendlingeri Care
Anthurium Wendlingeri is a majestic tropical plant with long, narrow, and beautifully corrugated leaves, which act as a living sculpture in any interior. This exceptional plant from the rainforests of Central America instantly catches the eye and becomes an adornment of any modern home.
Watering
Water only when the substrate in the upper 1/2 of the pot is dry. Anthurium does not tolerate overwatering, which leads to root rot.
Use lukewarm, standing water. Water that is too cold can shock the plant.
Light
It thrives best in bright, indirect light. Direct midday sun can scorch the leaves.
It can tolerate partial shade, but growth will be slower and leaves smaller.
Temperature and Humidity
Ideal temperature: 18–26 °C. Growth slows if the temperature drops below 15 °C.
Air humidity: Ideally 60–70%. Regularly mist the leaves or place the plant on a tray with moist pebbles.
Tip: Regularly wipe the leaves with a damp cloth to remove dust, allowing the plant to breathe better and photosynthesize.
Fertilization
During the growing season (spring–autumn), fertilize every 14 days with a liquid houseplant fertilizer.
In winter, reduce fertilization to once a month or omit it completely if the plant is not growing.
Substrate
Substrate: Must be very airy and well-draining. An "aroid mix" (a blend of houseplant potting mix, pine bark, perlite, and coco coir) is ideal.
