Asplenium Nidus, also known as the bird's nest fern, is a tropical fern with large, smooth, and glossy leaves in a bright green color. Its rosette arrangement resembles a bird's nest – hence its name.
Watering
When to water: Keep the substrate evenly moist. Water when the top layer (1-2 cm) dries out. Never water into the center of the rosette.
Water: Soft, standing water at room temperature.
Light
Placement: Partial shade to indirect light. Direct sunlight will scorch the leaves.
Temperature and air
Ideal temperature: 18–26 °C. Sensitive to drafts and cold below 13 °C.
Humidity: Loves high air humidity. Regularly mist the leaves or place on a tray with moist pebbles.
Fertilization and growth
Fertilization: Every 4 weeks during the growing season with liquid fertilizer. Do not fertilize in winter.
Substrate
Composition: Light, well-draining substrate for ferns with added perlite or sphagnum moss.
