Asplenium Nidus Care

Asplenium Nidus, also known as the bird's nest fern, is a tropical fern with large, smooth, glossy light green leaves. Its rosette arrangement resembles a bird's nest – hence its name.

💧 Watering

When to water: Keep the substrate evenly moist. Water when the top layer (1–2 cm) dries out. Never water into the center of the rosette.

Water: Soft, room temperature, standing water.

☀️ Light

Placement: Partial shade to indirect light. Direct sun will scorch the leaves.

🌡️ Temperature and air

Ideal temperature: 18–26 °C. Sensitive to drafts and cold below 13 °C.

Humidity: Loves high humidity. Regularly mist the leaves or place on a tray with moist pebbles.

🌿 Fertilization and growth

Fertilization: Every 4 weeks during the growing season with liquid fertilizer. Do not fertilize in winter.

Composition: Light, permeable fern substrate with added perlite or sphagnum moss.
