Begonia Leaf Ferox is an exceptional ornamental begonia with dramatic, dark green leaves covered in characteristic spiny outgrowths. It is a true gem for houseplant collectors and lovers of unusual species.
Watering Water when the top layer of the substrate (approx. 2–3 cm) is dry. It does not tolerate overwatering – roots rot easily. Use room temperature, standing water.
Light Prefers a bright location with indirect light. Avoid direct midday sun.
Ideal near an east or west-facing window.
Direct sun can cause leaf scorching.
Temperature and Air
Ideal temperature: 18–25 °C.
Humidity: Appreciates slightly higher air humidity but does not tolerate direct misting of leaves.
Cold: Does not tolerate temperatures below 15 °C.
Fertilizing During the growing season (spring–summer), fertilize once a month with liquid houseplant fertilizer at half strength. Skip fertilizing in winter.
Substrate and Repotting Requires a light, well-draining substrate. Repot in spring when the roots fill the pot.
