Care of Begonia Tu Bonfire Orange

Begonia Tu Bonfire Orange is an impressive flowering hybrid with abundant blooms in a vibrant orange color. Its trailing stems full of flowers make it ideal for hanging baskets or elevated shelves and windowsills. It blooms profusely from spring to autumn, bringing lively energy to the interior.

Watering Water regularly but moderately – only when the top layer of the substrate (approx. 2 cm) is dry. Bonfire begonias do not tolerate overwatering or complete drying out. Note: Water must not stand in the saucer under the pot. Water directly into the substrate – not on the leaves or flowers.

Light Prefers bright indirect light – ideal placement is near an east or west-facing window.

  • Avoid direct midday sun, which can burn flowers and leaves.

  • In insufficient light, flowering will be significantly reduced.

Temperature and Air

  • Ideal temperature: 16–24 °C.

  • Cold: Does not tolerate temperatures below 10 °C or drafts.

  • Humidity: Tolerates normal room humidity. Do not mist directly on flowers or leaves – water drops cause spots and flower rot.

Fertilization During the flowering period (spring–autumn), fertilize every 2 weeks with liquid fertilizer for flowering plants at half strength. Completely omit fertilization in winter. Regular removal of spent flowers (deadheading) encourages further blooming.

Substrate and Repotting Requires a light, airy, and well-draining substrate – a mix of peat or coir with perlite (1:1). Repot in spring, always only one size larger.

Warning Begonia Tu Bonfire is toxic to pets and children. Keep out of their reach.
