Chamaedorea elegans, also known as the Neanthe Bella palm or parlor palm, is one of the most popular indoor palms. Its delicate, arching leaves bring a tropical touch to any interior.
Watering
When to water: Regularly, as soon as the top layer of the substrate (approx. 2–3 cm) dries out. Do not let it stand in water.
Water: Soft, standing water at room temperature.
Light
Placement: Tolerates partial shade to indirect light. Direct sun will scorch the leaves.
Temperature and Air
Ideal temperature: 16–25 °C. Sensitive to cold below 10 °C and drafts.
Humidity: Regularly mist the leaves or place on a tray with moist gravel.
Fertilization and Growth
Fertilization: Every 4 weeks during the growing season with liquid fertilizer for palms. Do not fertilize in winter.
