Caring for Epipremnum pinnatum Aureum
Epipremnum pinnatum Aureum is an impressive climbing houseplant with light green to golden-colored leaves. As it matures, it forms large, segmented leaves with characteristic cuts that give it a tropical, exotic appearance. It is ideal as a dominant feature in an interior – bringing a lively atmosphere and nature to any room.
💧 Watering Water moderately – only when the top layer of the substrate (approx. 2–3 cm) is dry. Epipremnum does not tolerate overwatering. Caution: Water must not stand in the saucer under the pot. Use room temperature, standing water.
☀️ Light Prefers bright, indirect light, but also tolerates moderately lit rooms.
Avoid direct midday sun, which can scorch the leaves.
In low light conditions, the leaves lose their golden coloration and turn green.
🌡️ Temperature and Air
Ideal temperature: 18–25 °C.
Cold: Does not tolerate temperatures below 12 °C and drafts.
Humidity: Tolerates normal room humidity. During the heating season, we recommend occasional misting of the leaves.
🌿 Fertilization During the growing season (spring–autumn), fertilize once every 2–4 weeks with liquid houseplant fertilizer at half concentration. Completely omit fertilization in winter.
🧽 Substrate and Repotting Requires a well-draining, airy substrate – an aroid mix with perlite or bark is ideal. Repot in spring, always into a pot one size larger.
⚠️ Warning Epipremnum pinnatum is toxic to pets and children. Keep it out of their reach.
