Ficus elastica Pink is an impressive houseplant with magnificent leaves in shades of pink, cream, and green. It brings a tropical touch to interiors and becomes a natural focal point in any room. It is popular for its distinctive decorative appearance and relatively easy care.
Watering Water moderately – only when the top layer of the substrate (approx. 2–3 cm) is dry. Ficus does not tolerate overwatering or complete drying out. Caution: Water must not stand in the saucer under the pot. Use room temperature, standing water.
Light Prefers bright, indirect light – ideal placement is near an east or west-facing window.
Avoid direct midday sun, which can scorch the leaves.
In insufficient light, the leaves lose their characteristic coloration and pink tones fade.
Temperature and Air
Ideal temperature: 18–25 °C.
Cold: Does not tolerate temperatures below 12 °C, drafts, or sudden temperature changes.
Humidity: Tolerates normal room humidity. During the heating season, we recommend occasionally wiping the leaves with a damp cloth.
Fertilizing During the growing season (spring–autumn), fertilize every 2–4 weeks with liquid houseplant fertilizer at half strength. Completely omit fertilization in winter.
Substrate and Repotting Requires well-draining, airy substrate for houseplants with perlite. Repot in spring, always into a pot only one size larger. Be careful when repotting – the milky sap can irritate the skin.
Warning Ficus elastica is toxic to pets and children. Keep out of their reach. When handling the plant, gloves are recommended – the milky sap can cause skin irritation.
