Gel for Rooting Cuttings

HESI ClonFix is a viscous product containing a synthetic auxin for treating the cut end of a cutting before planting. It supports root formation in the treated part of the stem. It does not replace basic nutrients or suitable propagation conditions.

How to use

1. Prepare a clean tool and a suitable rooting medium that is evenly moist.
2. Dispense a small amount of the product into a clean container.
3. Dip the lower end of a fresh cutting just 3–5 mm into the gel.
4. Place the treated cutting in the prepared medium, such as soil, perlite, or rockwool.

The dipping depth is specified in the HESI catalog. Before use, always check the instructions against the current label on the product supplied. Too much hormone can actually slow rooting.

Practical tips

Apply the gel directly to the end of the cutting; do not use it as a regular fertilizer in watering. Do not dip cuttings into the bottle, and do not return any unused product from the working container to the bottle. Adjust humidity, light, and temperature to suit the species being propagated; keep the substrate moist, but not waterlogged.
