Caring for Zamioculcas zamiifolia Lucky

Zamioculcas zamiifolia Lucky is a robust and exceptionally resilient houseplant with glossy, dark green leaves. It's ideal for both beginners and experienced growers – it tolerates neglect, low light, and irregular watering. Its shiny leaves bring an elegant, tropical touch to any interior.

Watering Water very sparingly – only when the substrate is completely dry (approx. 4–5 cm). Zamioculcas stores water in its rhizomes and leaves. Caution: Overwatering is this plant's biggest enemy – water must not stand in the saucer under the pot.

Light It tolerates a wide range of light conditions – from deep shade to bright indirect light.

  • Avoid direct midday sun, which can burn the leaves.

  • It is one of the few plants suitable for darker corners of a room.

Temperature and Air

  • Ideal temperature: 18–25 °C.

  • Cold: It does not tolerate temperatures below 10 °C or drafts.

  • Humidity: Tolerates normal room humidity without requiring misting.

Fertilizing During the growing season (spring–autumn), fertilize once every 1–2 months with liquid houseplant fertilizer at half strength. Completely omit fertilization in winter.

Substrate and Repotting Requires a well-draining, sandy substrate – an ideal mix is for succulents or houseplants with added perlite. Repot in spring, only when the pot is cracking or roots are growing out.

Warning Zamioculcas zamiifolia is toxic to pets and children. Keep it out of their reach. We recommend gloves when handling the plant.
